day 5 of 81...

today i was reminded, as i chased reaggie up and down the aisles of chucky cheese, how difficult it is to contain a nearly 2 year old.  this time, though, i have a 5 1/2 year old to keep my eye on.  i need a clone...

the biggie today...as part of our animal week, we set up a mini aquarium.  like plants, i don't have much luck with fish, but since this is auttie's aquarium, i'm sure the fish will be fine.  she chose rainbow gravel with red and purple plants for her soon to be purchased beta.  such panache.

we painted some animal beads today.  gotta love that auttie did a dragon, an angry bird, and a unicorn with a rainbow tail.  i was much more unimaginative with my peacock, owl, and flamingo...which reminds me...last night a peacock landed on our roof.  while there are several in the area, this is the first time we've encountered one at our home.  every so often a strange bird makes a stop off in our yard...pheasant, duck, woodpecker, hawks...then it leaves and we never see it again.  waiting for a toucan to appear...now that would be something!

tomorrow, we are planning to visit the skirball cultural center.  i've been wanting to take auttie to the noah's ark exhibit, but perhaps given reaggie's new stage, i should wait for a day that bean is also free.  both girls are exuberant and i think containment would be nearly impossible on my own. tbd...
